A long time with no posting, it's true. I can't deny it. It turns out that, for the moment, I just can't be bothered to write about things as they happen. Here, instead, are some interesting things you may find diverting.

There is a treasure-trove of links, with some good connective tissue, about the London Underground map here: Mapper's Delight.
On etymological myths: How the bee got his knees [arts.telegraph.co.uk]

Some new blogs by friends who are travelling:

Photos from my trip to Los Angeles have been online since shortly after I returned. There are no captions yet, though, so they'll remain unlinked a little longer. Patience, gentle reader, is a virtue. Just like sloth.
Don't look now, but I think someone's mixing their virtues and vices. I'd complain, but I'm far too enthralled by the pretty pictures.
Ooooh. Pepper shakers.
Posted by: beltzner at June 10, 2004 04:30 PMthe mapper's delight link makes me giddy. not only because it's so interesting, but also because it makes me happy to discover people who delight in similar things as i do. usually i keep such ideas to myself, lest someone calls me on calling subterranean transit maps "so pleasing to the eye", but this guy's made a whole website out of it... ahhh... hours waste away at work.

though you probably already know about it...
